QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Can't find an answer to your question?
How much is stamp duty in Queensland?
Transfer duty depends on the purchase price, the property type and your circumstances. Concessions apply for first home buyers and owner-occupiers, and from 1 August 2026 a residency test applies to these home concessions. Use the Queensland Stamp Duty calculator for an estimate based on your own numbers.
What is LMI and do I have to pay it?
Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) protects the lender, not you, if you can't make your repayments and your deposit is smaller than usual, generally under 20% of the property value. Whether it applies depends on your deposit, the lender and the loan type. Our LMI calculator gives you an estimate, a broker can confirm whether it applies to you.
Are these calculators free?
Yes. Every calculator on this page is free to use, with no obligation and no need to hand over your contact details first.
How accurate is a borrowing power calculator?
A borrowing power calculator gives you an estimate based on the figures you enter, such as income, expenses and existing debts. It's a starting point, not a loan approval. Your actual borrowing capacity depends on a full assessment by a lender. For a precise figure, speak with one of our brokers.
